PEORIA, Ariz. — One person is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after they were struck by a car in Peoria, city police said.
According to early reports, the crash happened on Peoria Avenue between 74th and 75th avenues shortly before 8 a.m.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and the driver remained on scene.
Right now, Peoria police are unsure if speed or impairment played a part in the crash.
Peoria Avenue eastbound is closed in the area while police investigate, and drivers are encouraged to find another route.
The injured pedestrian has not been identified at this time.
