Here's who was named the 2024 Friday Night Fever Coach of the Year

After leading Scottsdale Christian on a Cinderella run to their second-straight state title, head coach Mike Sheahan has been named the FNF Coach of the Year.

PHOENIX — The 35th season of Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show, is now drawing to a close, which means it is time for the 12Sports team to hand out some awards.

One of our favorite awards to hand out every high school football season is Coach of the Year because so many local coaches deserve it.

This year's Friday Night Fever Coach of the Year is Scottsdale Christian head coach Mike Sheahan.

Years in the future, Hollywood is going to make a movie about the 2024 Scottsdale Christian Eagles. A small school defying the odds and numbers, with resilience built into their DNA.

Last season was year one for Sheahan. SCA won the 2A title, their first state championship since 1989. Coming into this season, the Eagles entered ready to defend it, but nothing went according to plan.

Scottsdale Christian started the season 1-3, but finished 6-4 to make the playoffs as the 12th seed.

At the end of their first round 28-6 win over Santa Cruz Valley,  a scuffle between the two teams resulted in 24 players being suspended for leaving the sideline.

With only 15 available players, the Eagles beat Veritas Prep in the quarterfinals, 26-24.

In the semifinals, still down 10 players, SCA upset the #1 seed, unbeaten San Tan Charter, to advance back to the 2A state championship.

Then, for the second year in a row, after losing to Pima earlier in the season, the Eagles came back to beat Pima, 28-27, in the game's final minutes to win back-to-back 2A titles.

After leading an incredible Cinderella run culminating in yet another state championship, Sheahan has more than earned the title of the Friday Night Fever Coach of the Year.
