PHOENIX - A commercial development company has released new renderings of the building that will house downtown Phoenix's first grocery store.
The development that will include a Fry's was first announced in April.
Plans for the location -- nicknamed Block 23 -- are for a mixed-used high rise building that will include retail, office and residential space.
Jeff Moloznik, vice president of RED Development, told Downtown Phoenix Inc. that his company wants to "create an authentic urban experience with active ground floor and retail/restaurant space."
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
A vacant parking lot between Washington and Jefferson streets and First and Second streets will be the site of the new development.
