MCSO arrests man for burglary of Fountain Hills home connected to murder spree

Just days prior, police found Mary Simmons and Bryon Thomas dead in the home, the last two of Dwight Jones' victims.

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man suspected of stealing from a home where two people were killed in a murder spree just days before.

Keith Dees, 41, stands accused of second-degree burglary from a home where police say Dwight Jones killed Mary Simmons and Bryon Thomas June 3.

Simmons and Thomas were the final two of Jones' six victims over a four-day stretch before police say he killed himself as police entered his room in a Scottsdale Extended Stay America.

MCSO said two cars were stolen from the home June 6. Dees was found driving one of the stolen cars June 20, when he was arrested and charged with auto theft.

DNA evidence collected from Dees at the time of that arrest was connected to the home, according to MCSO.
