Cause of death determined for Valley teacher Cathryn Gorospe

New details in the homicide case involving Valley teacher Cathryn Gorospe.

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. - The Yavapai County Medical Examiner released the cause of death for a Valley kindergarten teacher whose body was found last month weeks after she was reported missing.

The medical examiner said 44-year-old Cathryn Gorospe died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the chest.

Arrowhead Elementary teacher Gorospe was last seen bailing 27-year-old Charlie Malzahn out of a Flagstaff jail Friday, Oct. 6.

Police said human remains were found in Mayer, Arizona on private property off Nugget Mine Road about a week later.

Police said Malzahn gave investigators details and directions, which led law enforcement to narrow the scope of the search.

The Flagstaff Police Department officially ruled the case a homicide days later. Malzahn was named the suspect in the case.
