PHOENIX — A man is dead following an incident at a west Phoenix home, police said.
Phoenix police officers responded to a residence near Camelback Road and Grand Avenue on Friday afternoon regarding an injured person. Upon arrival, officers found a man, identified as 89-year-old Harold Hostetler, with serious injuries. Police said Harold did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers later learned that Harold's wife, identified as 52-year-old Lawanda Hostetler, left the residence prior to police arrival. Lawanda returned to the scene and was detained regarding the incident, police said.
Lawanda was booked into jail for the murder of her husband Harold, police said.
Details regarding what led up to the incident have not yet been released.
