PHOENIX — The man who died following a shooting at an apartment complex in north Phoenix has been identified, police said.
Phoenix police officers responded to an apartment complex near Thunderbird Road regarding a shooting at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men with gunshot wounds. One man, later identified as 40 year-old Omari King, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. King did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Information regarding the identity of the second man who was shot or what led up to the shooting was not released. The apartment complex and a portion of the surrounding area will be closed for the investigation, police said.
