WICKENBURG, Ariz. — A man was arrested in Wickenburg over the weekend after an hours-long standoff with police in which he threatened to blow up a house, according to authorities.
The Wickenburg Police Department said on Saturday officers received several reports of a man driving recklessly in local neighborhoods and "getting violent with residents."
Police said the man, identified as Ryan Meenk, 44, then drove back to his house.

Responding officers talked to Meenk through a closed door. Meenk told the officers he had explosives and flammable material, and he was going to destroy the home, police said.
"We continued communication with Ryan, in efforts to come out of the house peacefully," police said.
Later, Meenk broke out a window in the home's garage and used it to "point a brown rifle at the front door," police said.
At around six and a half hours into the standoff, Meenk came out of the house and allowed himself to be arrested, according to police.
"During a protective sweep of the residence, officers observed the rifle he displayed earlier on the kitchen island along with a large quantity of fentanyl pills," officials said. "Ammunition was observed in the front bedroom."
Police said Meenk is facing the following charges:
- Criminal damage
- Threatening and intimidating
- Endangerment
- Reckless driving
- Disorderly conduct (recklessly handling of a firearm)
- Misconduct involving weapons
- Possession of a narcotic drug
