Shooting in Tempe leaves 1 dead, 1 hospitalized

A man and a woman were found with gunshot wounds at a Tempe apartment complex, police said. The man died on scene.

TEMPE, Ariz. — An investigation is underway after a double shooting in Tempe left a man dead and a woman in the hospital, the city police department said.

According to early reports, officers were called to an apartment complex near Washington Street and Priest Drive around 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found the two people injured.

First responders pronounced the man dead on the scene while the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police didn't release either of their identities and there is no word on whether or not they are seeking a suspect. The cause of the shooting is still under investigation.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
