PHOENIX — One man is dead and two others are in police custody after a shooting near Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale, city police said.
The shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday near 59th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. When officers arrived in the area, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
First responders pronounced him dead on the scene, police said.
Witnesses in the area allegedly saw two other men running from the scene of the shooting, and officers set up a perimeter around the area. The nearby Thunderbird Hospital was placed on lockdown.
Two men were detained in connection with the shooting, and detectives are working to learn more about their involvement.
The lockdown on the hospital has been lifted, but Thunderbird Road is closed between 57th and 59th avenues for the investigation, police said.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
