Students are getting ready to go back to school. ASU begins its their fall semester on August 20. To prepare, Dr. Douglas Lakin is suggesting five ways to keep students healthy.
"I'd say the first thing is to be healthy with their diet and exercise," said Dr. Lakin. "Number two would be to be healthy with sleep and make sure they get enough of it."
He also touches on common factors for college students.
"The third thing would be to not overindulge in different opportunities for drinking," said Dr. Lakin.
"'The fourth thing would be, that they are exploring their sexuality at this point, they need to be conscientious about the risks of STDs," said Dr. Lakin.
"They need to be aware of their own mood and how they are feeling so that if they develop any issues with depression or anxiety or stress, they address them directly," said Dr. Lakin.
Dr. Lakin believes good health could also mean good grades.
