Police officers shot and killed a man suspected of cutting a person with a knife Wednesday night near 32nd Street and Thomas Road in Phoenix, a police spokesperson said.

No officers were hurt in the shooting.

The victim of the stabbing was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.

Phoenix PD spokesperson Jonathan Howard said dispatchers received calls of a man acting erratically at several locations, including a gas station in the area.

Police found and treated the stabbing victim at the station and a clerk ran out of the store to tell them a man had a knife inside, Howard said.

Officers worked to get people out of the store, but there was a confrontation with the suspect, and that is when officers shot him, according to Howard.

Police say there are no outstanding suspects.

The area will be until about 2 a.m. while police investigate.
