SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Police are investigating after an officer shot and killed a man at Scottsdale Fashion Square Sunday evening.
According to police, an off-duty Scottsdale Police Department officer employed as security by the mall responded to reports of a man acting erratically.
Police said the officer encountered the man in a parking garage but did not say what happened to cause the officer to fire.
The officer shot and killed the man during the encounter.
There was a gun found on the scene during the investigation, according to police.
The officer was not injured, police said.
