PHOENIX - Police are searching for a 17-year-old girl who they now believe willingly ran away with her 24-year-old boyfriend.

Authorities originally believed Rosa Garcia-Acosta was taken against her will. She was last seen at her home near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road. Police said her brother heard her scream and then saw a grayish SUV driving away from the house.

Police have since learned that Garcia-Acosta has been in contact with her family and is refusing to disclose her location to them.

Garcia-Acosta is also refusing to communicate with police.

Police said the case is no longer being investigated as a kidnapping, but as a missing/runaway juvenile.

The investigation is ongoing.
