PHOENIX - A Phoenix mom is being accused of child abuse after her 1-year-old son was found unresponsive Wednesday.

According to court documents, the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a call at Donielle King's Phoenix home.

The 1-year-old boy was found lying unresponsive on the bedroom floor. He was pronounced dead shortly after, court documents reveal.

Court paperwork shows firefighters noticed several bruises on the boy's ankles and head, and King's statements were not "consistent with the injuries."

The Medical Examiner's Office is investigating to determine what exactly caused the bruising.

King was detained by Phoenix police and admitted she left the boy home alone when she left for work, according to court records. She dropped her four other children off at daycare, but her 1-year-old son had open sores so he was not able to go to daycare.

According to court documents, King said her friend was going to babysit, but "apparently did not show up."

When King arrived back home, court records show, she found her son unresponsive on a mattress in her children's bedroom. King administered CPR as her daughter reportedly called 911.

King's bond was set at $50,000 and she was prohibited from having any contact with her other children. Police have recommended a charge of child abuse.

Police said the four other children are in the custody of the Department of Child Services.
