One person dead after shooting in Surprise

Police say a suspect is in custody, but the identity of the victim and suspect has yet to be released.

A man is dead after a shooting at a restaurant in Surprise Thursday, police said.

SURPRISE, Ariz. - A man is dead after a shooting at a bar in Surprise Thursday, police said. 

According to Surprise police, the shooting occurred at Tailgaters Bar near Bell and Reems roads. 

Officers responded to the shooting and when they arrived on the scene, patrons at the bar were physically restraining the suspect, 28-year-old Troy Paille, while other patrons were providing first aid to the victim, identified as 27-year-old Anthony Kenny, according to authorities.

Troy Paille was booked into the Maricopa County on charges of first-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons, and possession of marijuana.

Kenny was transported to a local hospital, but he later died, officials said. Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing.
