Bus crashes into signal pole in Phoenix

No injuries were reported and impairment was not a factor, officials say. The investigation is ongoing.

PHOENIX — A city bus crashed into a signal pole early Sunday morning, according to Phoenix police.

Officers responded to the crash near Roosevelt and 16th streets. Police say a vehicle was traveling northbound on 16th Street when the driver disregarded the traffic signal and collided with the city bus traveling westbound on Roosevelt.

According to police, the collision caused the bus to strike the signal pole, causing the pole to fall to the ground.

No injuries were reported and impairment was not a factor, officials say. The bus driver was transported for leg pain. The investigation is ongoing.
