Investigators identify man found dead after Queen Creek house fire

The body was found in a home near Hunt Highway and Power Road. Here are the latest details.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — An investigation is now underway after crews found a body in a home after a house fire in Queen Creek, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office

Firefighters from the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department responded to a house fire at a home on the Power Road and Hunt Highway around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Queen Creek police said. 

After the fire was extinguished, 82-year-old Gary McDonald was found dead inside the home.

Detectives are still working to learn more about the cause of the fire. McDonald's official cause of death has not been disclosed.
