Meet Aaron: A teen serious about fitness

Aaron had a pretty good 14th birthday recently with a tour of Talking Stick Resort Arena.

If you’re a big basketball fan, what could be better than eating an energy bar in the locker room of the Phoenix Suns?

Well, how about shooting baskets with former NBA Rookie of the Year and Suns Ring of Honor member Alvan Adams?

Oh, and don’t forget the Devin Booker jersey.

Aaron had a pretty good 14th birthday recently with a tour of Talking Stick Resort Arena conducted by Adams, who is now the Suns Vice President for Facility Management.

"Playing on a NBA real professional basketball court was kind of fun,” Aaron says, adding that the highlight of the tour was visiting the players’ locker room and sampling an energy bar.

Aaron plays basketball on a court at his foster home and works out regularly in a home gym in the garage. He is fiercely committed to self-improvement through fitness.

“I went from 160 pounds to 119,” he says, adding that he has gone from being unable to do a single push-up to cranking out 20 or more in a set.

Aaron, who wants to be a police officer when he grows up, says he wants to be part of a forever family that is active and interested in fitness.

“Aaron would be a good match for a family that enjoys spending time together,” says Brianna, a child-specific adoption recruiter with Aid to Adoption of Special Kids (AASK). “He is looking for a family to enjoy quality time with, such as going on family vacations, having dinner together and laughing at TV shows with. He is a child who will appreciate the little things, such as your time, and will, in turn, make you appreciate those little things."
