Pete Davidson pied as Sen. Jeff Flake in Saturday Night Live's Kavanaugh sketch

"Obviously I was really sad about the whole process as you can tell from my resting bitch face."

Saturday Night Live opened the show Saturday with jubilant Republican senators partying following the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

SNL's cold open used mock CNN coverage to give a live look into the "GOP locker room" where senators were congratulating each other.

"There are a lot of pacemakers being put to the test tonight," said Heidi Gardner playing CNN correspondent Dana Bash to Kenan Thompson as Don Lemon.

Gardner did "post-game" interviews with Sens. Mitch McConnell (Beck Bennett), Lindsey Graham (Kate McKinnon) and Susan Collins (Cecily Strong) about how proud they were to see the confirmation happen.

"Obviously I was really sad about the whole process as you can tell from my resting bitch face," said Pete Davidson as Sen. Jeff Flake, before getting a pie in the face from Sen. Lindsey Graham.

During the real-life confirmation process to confirm then-nominee Kavanaugh, it was Flake who voted "yes" to advancing Kavanaugh from committee to the Senate while also calling for a deeper FBI investigation. The White House authorized that "limited scope" background investigation.

Eventually Flake voted "yes" to confirm Kavanaugh.
