Cottonwood teacher accused of having sexual relationship with 17-year-old

Police said the relationship appears to have originated outside of any school setting.

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. — Cottonwood police arrested a middle school teacher for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

Isabella Miller-Bowman, a teacher at Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School, was placed on administrative leave pending a full investigation into the reported sexual misconduct and an alleged possession of marijuana, according to Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District.

The victim is not a student at Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary and attends school outside of COSD, according to police. Investigators said the relationship appears to have originated outside of any school setting.

Police said they do not believe there are any other victims at this time.

The district sent a letter notifying families of the investigation Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing.
