Valley students see 'Hamilton' for $10

The Hamilton Education Program allows high school students to creatively study the history of the country's founding fathers.

TEMPE, Ariz. - The hit Broadway show "Hamilton" has taken the Valley by storm with tickets selling for hundreds, even thousands, of dollars on websites like Craigslist.

Nearly 3,000 high school students from across the Valley had the opportunity to see the show for just $10 thanks to the Hamilton Education Program.

Over the course of several weeks, the program engages students to creatively produce performances based on historical events or documents, like the Bill of Rights.

Some students will be chosen to perform their art on the ASU Gammage stage, as well as participate in a question-and-answer session with some members of the Hamilton cast.

The program was made possible in the Valley thanks to a donation from the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation that helped subsidize the cost to just $10 for each student.
