GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Discovery Creemos Academy, a charter school, announced on its website that it had permanently shut down and, according to teachers, this comes days after administrators closed the school for a few days, citing threats made to the campus.
Some teachers and parents arrived to the campus on Tuesday morning to find the doors still shut.
The note from the school states the finances and operations were strained for the past few years. It also states online threats were made to teachers and a school leader’s home was targeted.
The Goodyear Police Department tells 12 News it has not received any calls or reports from the school regarding the threats.
