While Hurricane Florence was downgraded to a tropical storm on Friday afternoon, it continues to batter the Carolinas causing power outages, significant flooding and flight cancelations.

The storm is also leaving people homeless, forcing people into shelters. As of Friday afternoon, five people have died in the storm.

The storm is expected to continue to surge through the Carolinas this weekend and crews are preparing for potential search and rescue operations, including law enforcement rangers from the Arizona Bureau of Land Management's Phoenix, Gila and Colorado River districts.
